Who we are

Skrive Organization (“Skrive”, “we”, “us”) runs a yearly essay competition and related programs for young writers in Ghana. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Contact form: your name, email address, the topic of your message and the message itself.
• Get updates sign-up: your name and email address, and, if you choose to share them, your phone number and school.
• Essay entries: essays are currently submitted by email directly to our team, not through this website, and are handled under the entry rules published on our Programs page for each competition.

We do not collect payment card details on this website. Donations are made on our payment partner's own page, or by mobile money or bank transfer, using the details on our Donate page.

How we use your information

• To respond to your messages.
• To send you competition news and updates you asked to receive.
• To administer the essay competition and our other programs.
• To keep a record of who has contacted us or signed up.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run this website and send email: our database and file storage provider, and our email delivery service. They may only use it to provide these services to us.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. A small, necessary cookie keeps our administrators signed in to the admin area; it is not used to track visitors.

How long we keep it

We keep contact messages and sign-up details for as long as we reasonably need them for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete them.

Your choices

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, by emailing info@skriveorganization.com.

Young writers

Our programs are open to writers aged 16 and older. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian knows you are sharing your information with us.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including restricting access to our admin area to approved team members. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always show when it was last changed.
